We are looking to appoint a Specialty Doctor to provide ad hoc or routine clinical sessional cover in our Oral Surgery team. This post will be for a fixed term of 1 year. We are a busy Oral Surgery department, covering Northumberland and North Tyneside.
Main duties of the jobThe postholder will be expected to carry out face to face assessments, and a range of oral surgery treatments, both under local anaesthetic and general anaesthetic.

Oral surgery outpatient clinics
Oral Surgery local anaesthetic procedures
Oral Surgery general anaesthetic procedures
Person Specification Qualifications- For Dentists: MFDS/ FDS or MJDF For Medics: MRCS or FRCS
- Full registration and a License to Practice with the General Dental Council (GDC) and/ or General Medical Council
- Evidence of a minimum of 7 years post qualification clinical experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades
- Sedation qualification or equivalent
- Academic excellence e.g. prizes, merits, awards
- Recognised management or leadership course
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
