Due to the increase in treatments and care we now offer to our patients, we have additional space for Bank - Healthcare Assistant support at our Emerson's Green hospital, Bristol.

As one of our Bank Healthcare Assistants, you will work with and support members of the ward team, providing a safe and supportive environment for all patients. You will be ensuring that our patients receive a high standard of care by carry out routine patient monitoring and care duties and undertaking basic nursing care practices as directed by the Registered Nurse or qualified member of the team.
There will be elements of administration tasks to be carried out in Bank Healthcare Assistant position. For instance, you may be called upon to collect all patient information together for admissions and discharging or for follow-up calls. You may be required to photocopy particulars and transport patient paperwork to other departments.
As the Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will be conscious of health, safety and hygiene aspects on a ward. Not only will you look to make sure the ward is clean, you will monitor and look for potential hazards, ensuring they are made safe or the issue is quickly bright to the attention or the Ward Manger. In addition, you'll assist with the management of stock and equipment, ensuring good levels and ordering when appropriate, pre-empting any shortfalls.

What we'll look for in youYou would have completed your NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and Basic Life Support (BSL) Certificate, as well as having exposure to and experience of working in a hospital or clinical environment.
You will be an effective communicator at all levels, both written and verbal and adaptable, this position will see you communicating with a wide range of people, from internal colleagues from varied departments to patients, their families and friends. You will also be computer literate.
