Job Description

We are looking for different skilled Sonographers nationwide, from Glasgow in Scotland to Southampton on the south coast.

Below are some of the roles we're looking to fill:

Position Overview:

The Sonographer will be required to carry out all obstetric scans, these include:

  • Viability - Early Pregnancy including TV Scanning
  • Dating - CUBS
  • Foetal Anomaly Scans including - must be able to carry out Uterine Artery Dopplers
  • Growths - must be able to carry out Uterine Artery Dopplers and MCA Dopplers
  • Twin Growths - Placental Site Scans
  • Cervical Length Scans

Essential Skills

  • Experience is essential with at least 1 year's post qualification working in an obstetric ultrasound department.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Band 7 Sonographer, ideally until end of November 2026

  • General/Obs&Gynae/Neck trained ideally (WGH) - 13.5 hours a week
  • Sonographer will be general, obs/gynae and ideally neck trained to tackle substantial patient waiting list.
  • Obs trained and DQASS registered
  • At least 2 years' experience is essential.

Position Overview:

We're seeking a vascular-trained Sonographer to support both inpatient and outpatient services

Must be confident scanning:

  • Patient Care: Prepare patients, explain procedures, ensure comfort, and maintain sterile environments.
  • Scanning: Perform comprehensive vascular ultrasounds (e.g., carotid, limb, abdominal) using specialized equipment.
  • Image Analysis: Differentiate between normal and pathological findings, interpret sonograms, and identify vascular diseases.
  • Reporting: Generate detailed, high-quality reports with differential diagnoses for physicians.
  • Collaboration: Work with vascular surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot ultrasound and plethysmography equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in non-invasive vascular testing (e.g., Doppler, duplex).
  • Strong understanding of vascular anatomy and pathology.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Acute attention to detail and critical thinking.

  • Blood clots (Deep Vein Thrombosis - DVT)
  • Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)
  • Aneurysms (e.g., abdominal aortic aneurysm)
  • Stenosis (narrowing of vessels)
