Overview

Job Title: Band 7 Senior Pharmacist
Location: Epsom, UK
Salary: £34 hourly
Type: Full Time, Part Time Considered
Start: ASAP - Ongoing

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement managerial skills by working with rotation leads and the Deputy Chief Pharmacist.
  • Collaborate with lead pharmacists to maintain and develop evidence-based treatment guidelines and contribute to Trust policies.
  • Liaise with pharmacy leads to ensure standard-compliant practice changes are implemented Trust-wide.
  • Deputise for rotation leads when necessary.
  • Monitor service delivery in rotation areas and initiate improvements as needed.
  • Investigate errors and incidents following Trust procedures.
  • Perform risk assessments and manage associated risks.
  • Create rotas for dispensary, ward cover, and pharmacy locking up.
  • Dispense and check prescriptions using Trust systems, adhering to policies.
  • Participate in ward/clinical pharmacy services, offering pharmaceutical advice and ensuring safe medication use.
  • Provide pharmaceutical advice and discharge prescriptions, facilitating the discharge process.
  • Identify and resolve potential prescription risks before dispensing.
  • Counsel patients and carers about medication use.
  • Set and measure service performance indicators, contributing to quality initiatives.
  • Offer expertise to multi-disciplinary teams on specialist area risks.
  • Liaise with the Trust Non-Medical Prescribing Lead to update pharmacy documentation.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing Patient Group Directions within the Trust.
  • Support the integration of NICE prescribing recommendations.
  • Participate in auditing prescribing practices and contribute to practice research.
  • Ensure seamless pharmaceutical care for patients, liaising with external healthcare providers as needed.
  • Engage in the recruitment and education of pharmacy staff.
Requirements
  • Valid HCPC registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Car driver preferred for ease of travel between local sites.
