What you will do
  • Maintain the day-to-day pharmacy technician services provided to Welney Ward at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Ely.
  • Support the pharmacist in delivering clinical pharmacy services, including specialties such as elderly care, rehabilitation, stroke, and palliative care.
  • Conduct medicines reconciliation and assess patients' own medicines for newly admitted patients, resolving any issues and documenting them accurately on electronic patient records.
  • Manage the ordering of medicines for both patients and ward stock.
  • Attend weekly team meetings to support patient care during their hospital stay and facilitate discharge preparation.
  • Assist patients and nursing staff with self-administration of medicines to promote rehabilitation and independence.
  • Collaborate with community pharmacies as needed on patient admission and discharge.
Requirements
  • Registration: Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is essential.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Driving: A driving licence is preferable for this position.
