Band 3 - Gynaecology Admissions Admin Assistant, Admissions

This role primarily supports the Gynaecology Admissions Waiting List Coordinators by coordinating booking of pre-assessment appointments, managing cancellations and re-books, adding waiting list information to the electronic patient system, and managing the Gynaecology Admissions Email Inbox.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic administrator to join our friendly team within the Surgical Division. Candidate will work full time 37.5 hours, with flexible working days.

Main duties of the job
  • Adding patients to the waiting list in Cerner and providing breach date information to the WLC team.
  • Add external referrals to the system, update departmental spreadsheet, and book POAs accordingly.
  • Manage the Gynaecology Admissions Inbox and action emails.

The post holder will add patients to the waiting list and transpose waiting list card information; add external referrals to the system and departmental spreadsheet; book POAs; and manage the Gynaecology Admissions Inbox and related emails.

Person Specification Education and qualifications
  • Good level of education (GCSE or equivalent).
  • Previous NHS experience, understanding of 18 week targets and booking of theatre lists.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of NHS guidelines and systems, basic understanding of Cerner (PAS).
  • Experience with NHS 18 week target and booking theatre lists.
Experience
  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Basic computer competence with Outlook, Excel, and MS Word.
  • Ability to scan documents using IT equipment.
  • Previous clerical NHS experience.
