Job Description

Isle Of Wight NHS Trust are searching for a passionate Information Governance Officer to join their highly skilled team.

Our trust was established in April 2012 as the only fully integrated provider of health services to an isolated offshore population of 140,000.

Community, mental health and learning disabilities services have transferred to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Isle of Wight services will continue to be delivered locally on the Island by the same people, in the same locations. Our acute and ambulance services remain part of Isle of Wight NHS Trust.

Our trust is now working in a Group arrangement with Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust with a shared executive team and board meetings in common.

The Role

As an Information Governance Officer you will support in the processing of Subject Access Requests received into the Trust Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust).

You will also use multiple data sources and computer systems to compile health records to fulfil Subject Access Request and redact where necessary.

Within this role you will be required to assist the wider Information Governance team in ensuring high standards of Information Governance are implemented and maintained throughout the Trust.

The post holder will be providing and receiving routine information orally to assist in undertaking own job. Communication is mainly with work colleagues.

You will be responsible to ensure both Trusts meet their legal and regulatory obligations associated with information governance and to ensure that there are robust arrangements in place to continue to be well led organisations. This includes assurance and escalation as necessary.

Requirements

GCSE English and Math's

Good verbal, telephone, and written communication skills

Knowledge and understanding of the basic use of IT applications (e.g. Microsoft word, email)
