Backend/Full-stack Developer

Public sector, required on-site once a week.

Overview:
We're looking for an experienced Node.js engineer to build and maintain scalable web applications. This role is primarily Back End-focused, with some templating and accessibility work on the Front End. You'll work across the full development life cycle - from APIs and Middleware to deployment pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications using Node.js, Express, and Redis

• Build and consume REST APIs and create reusable npm packages

• Configure and maintain Docker builds, YAML configs, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines

• Use the GDS toolkit and Nunjucks for templating

• Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG/a11y) and perform testing

• Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Cypress, Jest)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Java or SQL databases
