Our client, a leader in specialised and innovative solutions for aviation's most complex challenges, is currently seeking a B1/B1.2 Certifying Engineer to join their team in Doncaster. This permanent role will see you lead base maintenance and modification activities on a variety of aircraft.
- Supervising licenced and non-licensed personnel during Base Maintenance inputs and Modification Programmes
- Certifying fabricated parts and/or modification of structural components on company aircraft, including Beech 200, Beech 300 Series, and Piper PA31 aircraft
- Assisting with complex structural repairs, either on or off aircraft
- Conducting hidden damage inspections of aircraft structures
- Removing or installing aircraft components as required
- Supporting with mechanical or electrical removals and installations as needed
- Performing and documenting work completed as per the appropriate manuals and regulations
- Ensuring work is completed in a safe and timely manner
- Complying with environmental health and safety policies and procedures
You will hold an unrestricted UK CAA Part 66 Category B1.1 Licence ideally with Beech 200 and 300 type ratings or similar, and preferable also a UK CAA Part 66 Category B1.2 Licence with a Piper PA31 type rating or Group 3 rating and a UK CAA Part 66 Category C endorsement. Experience of modifications, sheet metal work, structural and composite repairs is highly desirable. Additional requirements include:
- Proven experience and knowledge of Beech 200 and/or Beech 300 aircraft
- Proven experience and knowledge of Piper PA31 or Group 3 aircraft
- Current safety certifications including Initial Human Factors Training, EWIS, and FTS (desirable)
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
- Availability to travel to other sites as required
- Ownership of a basic set of hand tools
