Job Description

The AVP, Investment & Market Risk will analyze and evaluate risks related to the company's investment portfolio and asset liability management. The role involves developing and implementing investment strategies aligned with the company's risk appetite and financial goals.

Candidates should possess a strong background in investment analysis and market risk management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. A degree in finance, economics, or a related field, along with relevant experience, is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review investments and hedging strategies to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Quantify risk and monitor exposures using industry best practices.
  • Set risk limits for investment strategies in accordance with the company's risk tolerance.
  • Oversee market and liquidity risks, including interest rate and foreign exchange risks.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment with risk management frameworks.
  • Support strategic initiatives and ad-hoc projects related to investment and market risk.
  • Ensure adherence to the Prudent Person Principle (PPP) across portfolios.
  • Conduct stress tests and scenario analyses to assess market change impacts.
  • Prepare reports for regulatory and internal purposes, including ESG and climate risk analyses.
  • Create reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to process improvements.
  • Maintain documentation of risk policies and limits updates.
Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • BSc or higher in a relevant field; CFA/FIA or similar is desirable.
  • 10+ years in actuarial or investment roles, with experience in asset liability management and structured assets.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders across functions.
  • Strong change management and analytical skills.
  • Positive, collaborative team player.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of insurance cash flow drivers and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with insurance products like life, annuity, and protection.
  • Expertise in economic capital and ERM frameworks.
  • Strong mentoring and project management skills.
