Job Description

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced AV specialist with excellent technical skills and production experience to join our team and play a key role providing lighting, sound and operational support for a variety of productions at the 2022 Independent Girls' School of the Year.

South Hampstead High School is home to a busy and ambitious performing arts department, with two theatres, offering professional sound and lighting equipment. As AV & Production Manager, you will provide operational and technical support to ensure the smooth running of productions and events.

You will need to always ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, take responsibility for backstage and technical areas and provide full technical support (including AV, lighting, sound, recording and web-casting) for curricular activities, extra-curricular activities and lettings.

The role will also involve training staff and students to use sound and stage lighting systems, AV equipment and relevant hardware and software.

Our theatres are often hired out to external companies and you will be expected to supervise and be in attendance throughout these bookings, or to delegate staffing accordingly.

About You

To be considered for this role you will need knowledge of Digico sound desks and equipment, ETC EOS lighting desks and rigging, knowledge of network-based lighting and proficiency and experience in 3D visualisation softwares such as Vectorworks and Capture.

Experience in the planning and setting up of live events is equally important.

You will also need excellent interpersonal skills, and will be able to communicate clearly and consistently with all theatre and event space users.
