Automation Tester - HO

Job Title: Test Automation Engineer

Location: Leeds, hybrid - You will be required to go to the Leeds office 1-2 days per week, with travel to other sites as necessary.

What you'll be doing

The role is embedded within a scrum team, creating automated tests to support product and project development, collaborating with developers to influence testable code design, and platform engineers to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines. You will have the opportunity to influence testing strategies and tools.

• Analyzing test requirements, designing reusable test scripts, and specifying environment, data, and tool needs.
• Overcoming development obstacles to deliver quality testing on time.
• Reviewing peer-produced test artifacts.
• Reviewing and modifying test results and suites as needed.
• Defining and creating test cases from non-functional specifications.
• Designing and executing functional, performance, and security tests.
• Assessing test automation requirements and designing technical solutions, including review of unit and integration tests.
• Collaborating with software engineers to clarify testing requirements and interpretations.
• Executing exploratory testing where scripted testing is insufficient.

Your skills and experiences

• Knowledge of API testing (REST Assured).
• Experience with automated testing tools (preferably Selenium WebDriver or Cucumber).
• Proficiency in Java.
• Experience testing UI and large data sets.
• Understanding of microservices architecture.

Other desirable skills

• Kubernetes, Kafka, BDD/TDD tools, accessibility standards, AWS, Postgres.
