We areseeking an experienced and enthusiastic Autism Nurse Practitioner to join ourdedicated, experienced and growing team of professionals as we embark on ajourney of expansion. This is a part-time role (30 hours per week). Youwill work clinically along with Psychologists, Learning Disability Nurses,Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and teams of assistantpractitioners and charity volunteers.
Main duties of the job Thisis a permanent post supporting the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), in thedelivery of effective clinical services through assessment, formulation andongoing support to children, young people and families accessing CaudwellChildren services.
Youwill work clinically as part of the MDT that includes Psychologists, LearningDisability Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists,Paediatricians, Clinical Assistants, Assistant Psychologists and charityvolunteers. The role also will involveclose collaborative working with the Children and Family Services Department,Applications Department and Volunteer Department.

To lead assessments for children, young people andfamilies that attend for diagnostic assessment for autism.
To support and participate in ADOS/ADIR assessmentsfor children on the autism service pathway.
The role will involve supporting families anddelivering feedback on their assessment, ensuring families are supported withrelevant signposting and information
To support parents and arrange events to ensurefamilies have support prior to and post assessment- this will involve someweekend work
To provide support and information to other areasof the charity that the post holder will collaborate with
To ensure case lead has relevant information to beable to manage the caseload, this may involve preparation of documents andclinical information to support the assessment
To be able to collate clinical assessments andinformation and ensure that these can be contributed to a clinical report in atimely manner
The post holder should have IT skills and be ableto construct reports training will be provided
As a member of the MDT team the post holder willsupport the case lead and other professional, offer clinical advice both withinthe service and other agencies.
Provide mentorship and clinical supervision forstudents and colleagues
Retain compliance with professional regulating bodye.g., NMC, ensuring revalidation is planned and complete.
Clinical:
To provide support for young children and theirparents/carers referred to the service based upon the appropriate use,interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sourcesincluding psychological, self-report measures, observations, assessments andsemi-structured interviews.
To support the use of diagnostic tools as part of theassessment to provide and/or contribute to the diagnosis of neurodevelopmentaldisorders.
Support recruitment and open days to facilitate newstaff, offering support and being involved in new starter induction pathways
To contribute to diagnosis and recommendation optionsas outlined by the case lead and MDT
To exercise autonomous professional responsibility fortheir own practice
To contribute to and/or use evidence-based, integratedworking tools and processes to support the assessment process.
Participate and implement all aspects of governance toensure compliancy-e.g., audits, meeting targets and ensuring best practice isfollowed across the charity
To undertake risk assessments for young children andtheir parents/carers.
To communicate, in a skilled and sensitive manner,information on the assessment, formulation and recommendations for youngchildren and their parents/carers who are under their care.
To maintain accurate and accessible records and adhereto Information Governance requirements.
To demonstrate high level communication skills, bothwritten and verbal, within all
Agencies, families and children.
Teaching, Training, and Supervision of staff,volunteers and students
To receive and partake regular clinical professionalsupervision
To gain additional experience and skills relevant tothe profession and/or the charity
as agreed with the clinical lead to enhance the service and personaldevelopment
Support and Enhance Service Development
To contribute to a culture that is, productive,accessible, inclusive and flexible to meet the needs of the local population.
Work closely with colleagues in the multi-disciplinaryand multi-agency setting including statutory and voluntary sector who areinvolved with young people.

Duties andresponsibilities in developing and Implementation of Support Services:
Towork closely withthe Family Support and Community Engagement Workers, you will maintain anup-to-date directory of local services and build up knowledge and understanding ofcommunity and statutory services available to families (parent/carer groups,education and special educational provision, EHCPs, Local authorities, CAMHSand voluntary services).
Advice and Guidance: Provide emotional support and advice to families facing variouschallenges. Provide a clinical escalation for Family support workers andcommunity engagement workers. To provide a clinical escalation route to familyengagement workers on clinical aspects of the service.
Advocacy: Advocate for families by connecting them with community resources andservices, ensuring their needs are met. To support families at their time ofneed such as liaising with schools, supporting in educational meetings, cofacilitating workshops alongside the workshops team in schools to parents andprofessionals.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of family interactionsand progress
Community Engagement: Identifycommunity events to raise awareness and support families
General:
If applicable, ensure compliance with professionalstandards in relation to your relevant professional governing body.
Adhere to your professional bodys regulations,ensuring registration is maintained at all times, where applicable.
