We are proud to be supporting a forward thinking and growing accountancy practice in their search for a Business Services Senior Auditor and Accountant to join their expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced practice professional who is either ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience, and looking to take on a varied role combining accounts, tax and audit work. The practice works with a diverse client base including SME business owners, finance directors of international groups, trustees of charitable organisations and high net worth individuals. As Business Services Senior Auditor and Accountant, you will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients, delivering a mix of accounts preparation, tax compliance and statutory audit work. You will also support junior team members and play a key role in maintaining high technical and service standards across the team.

Key Responsibilities Audit and Technical Delivery
  • Complete statutory audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Prepare statutory accounts in line with relevant accounting standards
  • Prepare corporation tax returns for a range of clients
  • Ensure compliance with audit, accounting and tax regulations
  • Support delivery of high quality assurance and compliance services
Client Management
  • Act as a key point of contact for a varied client portfolio
  • Communicate effectively with SME owners, finance directors and trustees
  • Support clients with accounting, audit and tax related queries
  • Build and maintain strong, long term client relationships
Team Management
  • Support and review work of junior team members
  • Provide guidance, feedback and technical support to develop junior staff
  • Work collaboratively with managers and wider team members
  • Contribute to a positive and high performing team environment
Portfolio and Delivery Support
  • Manage your own workload across audit, accounts and tax assignments
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and within deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and initiative across tasks
  • Support efficient delivery across a varied client base
Business Development and Expansion
  • Support the ongoing growth and success of the firm through client service excellence
  • Identify opportunities to add value to clients where appropriate
  • Contribute to a forward thinking and commercially aware team culture
  • Assist in developing strong client relationships and service delivery
Requirements

Skills and Experience Required

  • ACA or ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Strong experience in general practice accounting
  • Experience completing statutory audits
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
  • Experience preparing personal tax returns
  • Experience supporting and reviewing junior team members
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail and strong IT skills
  • Proactive, motivated and able to show initiative
