Audit and Accounts Senior Cambridge £38,000 - £46,000

This opportunity sits within a Top 40 UK accountancy practice and offers exposure across audit, statutory accounts and tax compliance, making it ideal for someone seeking a well-rounded position with genuine scope to progress.

This is a hands-on, client-facing position where you will take ownership of assignments, support junior team members and work closely with senior leadership.

Role Responsibilities

  • Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole traders and not-for-profit organisations.
  • Leading and supporting audit assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Assisting with independent examinations for charity clients.
  • Drafting corporation tax computations and supporting tax compliance processes.
  • Preparing cash flow statements and supporting schedules.
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing constructive feedback.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, resolving queries efficiently.
  • Managing assignments to budget and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Assisting with VAT returns and other compliance work as required.
  • Supporting the ongoing training and development of junior staff.

Personal Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or actively studying.
  • Previous experience within UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting standards and audit processes.
  • Confident IT skills and experience with common practice software.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of work.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites when required.
  • A collaborative mindset and desire to support others' development.
