There has never been a more exciting time to join us and an opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic Assurance, Compliance & Asbestos Officer to play a key role within the Health Board.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be professionally and technically responsible for Health and Safety for Management of contractors activity and Estates and Asbestos compliance, reporting to the Estates Health and Safety and Asbestos Manager.
Duties will include undertaking all aspects of Estates Health and Safety management including development of operational procedures, protocols, risk assessments, workplace inspections, development and delivery of Estates Health and Safety action plan, producing asbestos management plan and monitoring its effectiveness, conducting asbestos surveys, preparing specifications for tender/quotation of Health and Safety projects/Asbestos removal, reviewing and preparing risk assessments and method statements, challenging contractors' activity, auditing and register updating, Health and safety/Asbestos awareness training, and assisting with other facility compliance matters and undertaking other duties as required.
Whilst the post holder will assist the Estates Health and Safety and Asbestos Manager in a number of the duties outlined above, they will jointly undertake some duties and the Support Officer will take the lead on certain responsibilities.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Person Specification Experience- Must have significant experience as a Health and Safety/Asbestos advisor.
- Working within a NHS environment.
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent knowledge with specialist knowledge and experience in relation to Health and Safety and/or Asbestos.
- P402 surveying. P406 supervisory MIOSH, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Asbestos Duty Holder Proficiency Certificate.
