Job Description

Hayfin's Private Equity (PE) team is part of Hayfin Capital Management, a London-based asset manager with over Є33bn AUM and 13 offices globally. Our objective is to produce outstanding risk-adjusted returns combining a flexible investment mandate with a thorough and disciplined investment process.

Hayfin currently employs over 200 individuals across Private Credit, Liquid Credit, Private Equity Solutions ("PES") and supporting functions. Hayfin PES was established in 2018 and has since evolved to become one of the leading investors in European single-asset GP-led secondary transactions. The team partners with leading European private equity sponsors to provide liquidity and additional growth funding, allowing for continued exposure and optimised value creation in their most-prized portfolio companies. The strategy is focused on the Healthcare, Information Technology and Business Services sectors, capitalizing on Hayfin's local knowledge and origination capabilities.

The PE team is seeking an Associate who has a passion for private equity investing. The team is currently comprised of 10 individuals, with a variety of buy and sell side backgrounds, including in firms such as Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Rothschild, Moelis, Pantheon, Access Capital Partners, GIC, Aberdeen, and others.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting financial modelling, valuation and returns analyses (LBO, precedent transactions, public comparables)
  • Supporting due diligence processes (incl. commercial, financial and legal workstreams)
  • Preparing investment memoranda and materials for investment committee approval
  • Monitoring the performance of portfolio companies through regular reporting and analysis
  • Supporting the ESG committee and its firm wide activities
  • Evaluating market conditions and developing regional coverage responsibilities over one or more European PE markets.
Qualifications
  • Analyst / associate-level experience within private equity, investment banking and/or corporate finance
  • Strong technical / financial modelling skills and commercial acumen
  • Self starter with strong interpersonal skills, a team player with hands on mentality
  • Strong academic credentials from a leading university (business related studies preferred)
  • European language skills/cultural understanding of one or more European markets e.g. Spain or Benelux (preferred)
