Job Description
Many developers are picking blocks off the shelf and wiring those blocks together to solve problems. In this position, we are writing those blocks to build a service that people across Sage will work with. We are looking for an Engineer who is curious about security and loves to understand what's going on "under the hood." If you are naturally inquisitive and analytical, perhaps you took apart a TV in your teens to see how it worked. You will join a team of passionate and knowledgeable engineers, QAs, and architects. There will be many opportunities to learn on the job while working on exciting projects. The Shared Services team develops security-critical services used across Sage's products worldwide. The Associate Engineer will be responsible for building, improving, and maintaining these services, with involvement and ownership of the full service lifecycle.
This is a hybrid position - working 3 days a week from our Manchester office.
Key Responsibilities
- Desire to deepen knowledge, especially around security.
- Successfully develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality software (requirements, design, code, documentation, etc.).
- Stay updated with relevant technology areas.
Skills, know-how, and experience:
- Relevant commercial experience in Software Engineering with recent .NET Core and C# development.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms like Azure, relational and non-relational databases, RESTful API design.
- A DevOps mindset with a desire to manage the entire service lifecycle.
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Agile, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies.
