Job OverviewPosition: Associate Director, Business Process, Cambridge UK
Function: R&D Quality, Central Quality Services
Role Summary: Create business process models within the process modeling methodology framework by analyzing sources such as SMEs, documentation, and previous Visio/SIPOC maps. Facilitate workshops, interviews, and project activities to synthesize information into process models.
Responsibilities- Facilitate stakeholder engagement to design clear end-to-end processes, working with various levels within Research and Development to align on common goals.
- Apply Business Process Management (BPM) methodologies, including Six Sigma, Lean, BP Trends, Hammer, Rummler-Brache, and Agile.
- Create Signavio models and define process attributes accurately.
- Analyze and problem-solve during process mapping sessions.
- Translate procedural documents (e.g., SOPs) into detailed process maps (L1-L3).
- Reconcile maps with actual workflows and perform gap analyses to identify issues and risks.
- Create SIPOC-based process profiles and future state process flows.
- Engage system owners and IT for system integration and implementation.
- Utilize core process mapping tools and methodologies effectively.
- Participate in documentation and review of GxP procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Visio, Signavio, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, and SmartSheets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience as a business analyst or systems architect, with a background in writing technical documents.
BA/BS or higher in life sciences, IT, analytics, or related fields with significant experience in biopharma, quality, or compliance. Proven leadership in continuous improvement initiatives and experience with policies, procedures, and audit responses.
Knowledge & Other Requirements- Strong analytical and business knowledge with understanding of quality and compliance implications.
- Leadership presence and influence without authority.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
