Based in our Birmingham or Bristol office, the Associate Director, Automotive and Roadside, will play a key leadership role within our specialist property consultancy team, focusing on advising clients across the automotive, roadside, and mobility sectors. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality property advisory services including valuation, landlord and tenant, and strategic consultancy across a range of assets such as vehicle dealerships, petrol filling stations, EV charging hubs, and roadside retail.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial insight. Whilst sector-specific knowledge would be advantage, guidance and support will be provided.
Travel throughout the UK will be required, although most travel will be a more regional (Midlands and South) basis. Therefore, a full UK driving licence is required.
Key Responsibilities- Valuation: Conduct and oversee valuations, feasibility assessments, and due diligence for single assets and portfolios for purchase sale, secured lending and financial reporting, in line with RICS standards.
- Consultancy: Lead and deliver consultancy projects for clients in the automotive and roadside sectors, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Landlord and Tenant: As required provide landlord and tenant advice for single assets and portfolios.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and tenants, delivering high-quality and timely advice.
- Market Research & Reporting: Monitor property market trends, prepare reports, and advise on market conditions and investment opportunities.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with RICS standards, company policies, and relevant legislation.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor across the automotive and roadside landscape.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to winning instructions through pitches, proposals, and networking.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Investment, Planning, Development, Valuation, Agency) to deliver integrated consultancy solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date market intelligence and insights on the automotive, roadside, and mobility sectors.
- Contribute to internal and external thought leadership, publications, and market commentary.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and technical support.
- Support resource planning, team performance, and knowledge sharing within the practice.
- Promote a collaborative, high-performing, and client-focused culture.
- Contribute to business planning, fee targets, and revenue growth.
Essential:
- Degree-qualified in Real Estate, Property, or a related discipline.
- Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or equivalent).
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years).
- Strong client management, business development, and presentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of valuation and landlord and tenant principles.
- Excellent analytical, commercial, and communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Established network of automotive and roadside sector contacts and relationships.
- Strong Valuation skills and knowledge of Valuation software (Argus, Kel).
