Associate DevOps Engineer
From enabling world-class researchers to supporting mission-critical deployments, your work will help with moving quantum computing from the lab to the real world. We're looking for an Associate DevOps Engineer to join our growing Software Engineering team to support the design, build, and maintenance of robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure that supports our quantum computing platform.
As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you'll be supporting the team in building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our quantum computing systems. You'll contribute to the design and implementation of solutions, help with monitoring and maintaining systems, and contribute to security and compliance checks. Working closely with senior engineers and third-party vendors, you'll gain hands-on experience and play a key role in supporting the foundations of a new computing era.
If you're eager to learn and excited to start your career in solving complex problems at scale, this role is a great fit. You'll be supported as you contribute to real-world projects, gaining experience across the full development lifecycle in a collaborative and high-trust environment. Working as part of a cross-functional team, you'll have the chance to learn from experienced engineers while building your skills and growing into the role. As part of our growing software team - working for Tom Winchester (Head of DevOps) - you'll be;
Responsibilities- Contributing to the design and implementation of secure, scalable infrastructure to support our software systems and quantum platform
- Assisting with security audits and reviews - working with trusted third-party vendors
- Automating deployment pipelines, monitoring, and documenting to ensure reliability and efficiency across our systems with support from senior engineers
- Collaboratively troubleshooting production and development issues with a proactive mindset, ensuring systems are resilient and incidents are resolved effectively
- Building strong internal relationships by working closely with product, engineering and research teams to learn and understand infrastructure needs and challenges
- Maintaining high standards for performance and security in all deployments - and contributing to the systems that uphold them
You have hands-on experience debugging issues in both development and production. You've worked on existing codebases as well as new development projects, giving you exposure to different types of challenges. You've helped configure and deploy continuous integration pipelines and have gained experience with cloud platforms, containerization, and setting up monitoring and logging to support systems at scale.
We'd love to hear about any experience you've had working in team or cross-functional environments, whether through academic projects, internships, or commercial work. You're someone who values clarity, stays curious when faced with ambiguity, and takes initiative to learn and contribute. Whether your background is in software, infrastructure, or systems, if you think like an engineer and are excited to help deliver reliable solutions, this is your chance to be part of building the quantum future, one system at a time.
