Associate Audiologist

Do you like ice-cream and seaside rock, 180 degree skies and beautiful golden beaches then it may be time to consider a move to join our welcoming Audiology Team on the "Sunrise Coast". We are a friendly department currently enjoying low wait times for all aspects of our service; we receive excellent feedback from our both our patients and staff Friends and Family Tests.

You will join us at an exciting time as we extend our Audiology service into the newly built, on-site, Community Diagnostic Centre where we will provide adult, paediatric and tinnitus assessment pathways. We are also involved with the planning of our new hospital due to open in 2031/32.

Main duties of the job

We are searching for a forward-looking and enthusiastic person to join us. You will be expected to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team and as such have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will hold a Foundation degree in Hearing Aid Audiology or a nationally recognised qualification in Audiology.

The successful candidate will undertake a range of services including hearing screening, wax removal, supporting Paediatric clinics, working with hearing impaired adults providing hearing aid maintenance, provision and rehabilitation, diagnostic support to the ENT department and support of clinical administration processes.

The post is full time, but there is the opportunity to work flexible hours within a 4/5 day week or 9 day fortnight.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications
  • Foundation degree in Audiology or equivalent
  • Registered with the HCPC
Experience and knowledge
  • Experience of working in an Audiology department
  • Competent in routine adult audiology
  • Has worked with children >7
  • Experience of undertaking wax removal
  • Working knowledge of IT applications including excel word processing and powerpoint
  • Experience as second tester in Paediatric Audiology clinics
  • Experience in using a patient management system ie Auditbase
Skills, abilities and competencies
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work flexibly across clinical areas and adapt to the needs of the service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with patients, families and the wider multi disciplinary team
  • Remains updated with professional practice
