We're looking for a driven, hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our Norwich hub - the largest parts operation within the Thurlow Nunn Group and the UK's largest independent Distrigo site.
This is a key operational role supporting the Warehouse Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse and delivery operation.
You'll work closely with team leaders, warehouse colleagues and drivers to maintain high standards across productivity, accuracy, safety and customer service, while helping to improve the way the operation works as the business continues to grow.

About the RoleAs Assistant Warehouse Manager, you'll support the Warehouse Manager with the effective day-to-day running of our Norwich warehouse and logistics operation.
You'll help coordinate staffing, workload, picking, loading and dispatch activity, while supporting the management of our delivery fleet and driver team.
You'll be visible within the operation, working closely with colleagues across the warehouse to maintain standards, solve problems and ensure customer orders leave the site accurately and on time.
You'll also support the use of key operational systems including Pinnacle, Samsara and SafetyCulture, helping ensure processes are followed consistently and issues are identified and acted upon quickly.
When required, you'll step up to support or deputise for the Warehouse Manager and help maintain operational control across the site.
What You'll Be Responsible For Day-to-Day Operations- Support the Warehouse Manager with the daily planning and running of warehouse and delivery operations.
- Help coordinate warehouse workload, staffing and priorities throughout the day.
- Ensure orders are picked, checked, loaded and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Support the effective flow of stock through goods-in, storage, picking and dispatch.
- Help coordinate van loading, driver allocation and delivery activity.
- Respond to operational issues quickly and work with the team to find practical solutions.
- Support communication between warehouse, drivers, sales teams and other Thurlow Nunn locations.
- Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and customer service.
- Support the management and development of colleagues across warehouse, picking and driving roles.
- Provide clear direction and support to team leaders and operational colleagues.
- Help maintain high standards of attendance, performance, behaviour and productivity.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new colleagues.
- Coach and develop team members to improve capability and flexibility across the operation.
- Assist with performance management and people matters in line with company policy.
- Help create a positive, accountable and team-focused working environment.
- Support the Warehouse Manager in maintaining strong Health & Safety standards across the site.
- Carry out and support warehouse inspections, vehicle checks and operational walkarounds.
- Ensure near misses, hazards and operational concerns are reported and acted upon.
- Help ensure colleagues follow safe working practices and internal procedures.
- Support the effective use of SafetyCulture and other compliance processes.
- Promote a proactive, safety-first culture throughout the warehouse and delivery operation.
Support the monitoring and improvement of key operational measures including:
- Picking accuracy
- Warehouse productivity
- Driver performance and compliance
- Fleet safety
- Health & Safety performance
- Operational efficiency
Work with the Warehouse Manager and wider management team to identify areas of underperformance and support practical improvement plans.
What You'll Bring- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution or logistics environment.
- Supervisory, team leader or junior management experience within an operational setting.
- Strong people skills and the confidence to lead and support operational teams.
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to be visible within the operation.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Confidence making decisions and solving problems in a fast-paced environment.
- A good understanding of warehouse Health & Safety and safe working practices.
- Experience using warehouse, fleet or operational systems would be beneficial.
- Experience with Pinnacle, Samsara or SafetyCulture would be an advantage but is not essential.
- A positive attitude towards continuous improvement and developing both people and processes.

£40K with OTE of £50K based on site performance
Hours45 Hours per week, will be based on 5 day week operating between 6am-6pm based on the needs of the business
