Job Description
Role overview:

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership & communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales & KPI targets whilst providing unparalleled service.

Responsibilities:
  1. Supporting the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to meet or exceed sales & KPI targets, setting clear sales goals, tracking performance, and evolving processes for continuous growth.

  2. Creating a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and developing staff, building a motivated and high-performing team to increase store success.

  3. Analyzing sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions with the Store Manager, identifying and responding to operational and commercial opportunities.

  4. Acting as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager's absence.

  5. Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints professionally.

  6. Managing day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.

  7. Supporting cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.

  8. Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.

  9. Providing feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.

  10. Supporting the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules for proper coverage and productivity.

Role objectives and KPI's:
  1. Contributing to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales target.

  2. Driving all additional KPI's including Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.

  3. Achieving upselling or cross-selling targets.

  4. Maintaining a high Net Promoter Score.

  5. Ensuring stock accuracy during store audits.

  6. Ensuring all new colleagues complete mandatory training.

  7. Ensuring employee satisfaction scores meet or exceed company benchmarks.

  8. Assisting in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.

Skills and Experience:
  1. Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.

  2. Passionate about retail with a good understanding of trends and competitors.

  3. Experience in coaching and developing individuals.

  4. Strong communication skills.

  5. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.

  6. Experience in analyzing KPI data for commercial decisions.

  7. Keen eye for detail & commerciality; visual merchandising experience is advantageous.

  8. Ability to promote JD Group values to stakeholders.
