Job Summary: We are seeking an ambitious individual to join a Portfolio Management team in Mayfair providing investment management to a variety of clients. This role will support the day-to-day management of portfolios, ensuring they remain aligned with agreed investment objectives, liquidity needs and any operational requirements. This role would be well-suited to someone who has experience of managing portfolios with limited supervision.

Key Accountabilities Portfolio Management
  • Implement investment decisions across an existing book of multi-asset portfolios, taking capital gains tax and specific client requirements into account.
  • Monitor portfolios on an ongoing basis to ensure they comply with restrictions.
  • Invest cash additions and place sales when required.
  • Incept and monitor trades, liaising with our in-house dealing team when required.
  • Attend performance review meetings with clients when required.
  • Provide commentary on portfolio holdings and market conditions when required.
Incepting Trades
  • Placing fund trades under supervision from a portfolio manager initially and eventually fully independently.
  • Only candidates that hold the CISI Regulations Paper will be considered.
Key Competencies
  • 3+ years' previous experience of working in a portfolio assistant or portfolio specialist role at a wealth / investment manager or financial adviser.
  • Holder of CISI Level 3 Regulations Paper and further CISI / IMC exams (required).
  • Experience of managing portfolios including raising cash and portfolio reviews.
  • Experience of trade execution process.
  • As we work in financial markets, the ability to carry out tasks quickly with high attention to detail is crucial.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise quickly with good decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, ability to organise and influence people outside of the team.
  • Only candidates proficient in Excel will be considered.
  • Experience of using any trade execution software such as IMiX.
  • Experience of using Morningstar Direct / Bloomberg.
