Assistant Pig Farm Manager - Ireland, County Offaly - €40,000 +Accommodation
The JobWe are recruiting for an experienced and practical Assistant Pig Farm Manager to join an established pig farming business. This is a hands on role supporting the Farm Manager with the day to day running of the unit, maintaining high standards of animal health, welfare, performance and biosecurity.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Farm Manager with the day to day running of the pig unit and supervise staff when required
- Monitor pig health, welfare and performance, carrying out routine husbandry and livestock tasks
- Identify and respond to health and production issues, including supporting feeding and medication programmes
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, biosecurity and animal welfare
- Keep accurate farm and production records and ensure procedures are followed
- Support staff training and development, alongside general maintenance of farm facilities and equipment
- Take responsibility for the unit in the Farm Manager's absence

The Candidate- Previous practical experience within commercial pig production
- Good knowledge of pig husbandry, health and welfare
- Experience supervising or supporting farm staff would be advantageous
- Practical, hands-on and confident working directly with livestock
- Strong observation, communication and organisational skillsReliable and able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
- Full driving licence
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
