Job Description

Deloitte's Portfolio Financial Services business offers the opportunity to work with dynamic, entrepreneurial, and high-growth financial services businesses.

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our newly formed Scotland Financial Services hub based in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The focus areas include funds, investment management, and banking and capital markets. We thrive on working with high-growth clients and supporting their ambitions through a differentiated audit experience.

Our current portfolio includes well-known financial services clients and future industry leaders. The Scotland Financial Services hub focuses on:

  • Funds - focusing on regulated funds across traditional and alternative asset classes.
  • Investment management - focusing on corporate asset managers and private equity clients.
  • Banking and capital markets - including lenders, brokers, and corporate finance firms.

Reporting to a Manager, Senior Manager, or Director/Partner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working effectively within an inclusive team culture;
  • Supervising field teams to execute audits successfully;
  • Managing client relationships daily;
  • Mentoring junior team members;
  • Driving continuous improvement in audit methodology through innovation;
  • Participating in practice management and staff development activities;
  • Supporting wellbeing initiatives within teams;
  • Facilitating internal training and development programs.

To qualify, you should have:

  • Relevant professional qualification in progress or achieved (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, ICAS);
  • Experience in external auditing, preferably with financial institutions;
  • Knowledge of auditing techniques including risk assessment and controls testing;
  • Strong communication and team management skills;
  • Motivation and initiative in challenging environments;
  • Good organizational, planning, and coaching skills.
