Our Wickham Bishops site is a busy, community-focused location where service and standards matter. We pride ourselves on creating a positive working environment with strong teamwork and a passion for delivering an excellent guest experience.

We are entering an exciting new phase, with the introduction of a dinner service on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, alongside a Sunday lunch service, expanding our offering and creating new opportunities for growth.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of our Wickham Bishops location. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure high operational standards, exceptional customer service, and a positive team culture.

This is a full-time position based on a 40-hour week, including weekends and evening shifts in line with our new dinner and Sunday lunch services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations

  • Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service

  • Supervise and motivate front-of-house team members

  • Assist with staff training, onboarding, and development

  • Manage shifts, rotas, and staffing levels

  • Support the launch and smooth running of the new dinner and Sunday lunch services

  • Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are maintained

  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control

  • Handle customer feedback professionally and resolve issues efficiently

  • Support in achieving sales targets and managing labour costs

  • Step up to run the site in the absence of the General Manager

Working days

May be subject to change and holiday cover. Monday Day, Thursday Day, Friday Day, Saturday Evening, Sunday Day.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in hospitality

  • Experience supporting service launches or new concepts (desirable)

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • A hands-on approach with a positive attitude

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

  • Passion for food, coffee, and delivering great guest experiences
