Job Title: Assistant Manager
Function/Department: Retail
Reporting To: Shop Manager
Location: Erdington The Green
Role PurposeYou will be responsible and accountable for the shop and the team in the absence of the Shop Manager, operating and running the shop and managing the team effectively. The day to day of the role involves assisting the Shop Manager and team with the smooth running of the store, ensuring high standards are maintained, accepting and paying out bets, and delivering excellent customer service. The role also includes opening and closing the business and managing the shop's operations when the Shop Manager is absent.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Shop Manager with the day to day running of the shop and the shop team.
- In the absence of the Shop Manager, lead from the front in managing the operation and running of the shop and the shop team, including managing and guiding the team and overseeing cash management procedures.
- Manage and utilize the company Time and Attendance system, ensuring adherence by the shop team.
- Lead by example and drive the team to maintain shop presentation standards.
- Communicate clearly, encouraging colleagues to share ideas for improvement.
- Stay focused on shop results to identify opportunities and work with the team toward high standards.
- Provide outstanding customer experience.
- Educate and guide the team to deliver excellent customer service.
- Accept bets per procedure, accurately taking and processing customer bets through multiple channels, including betting terminals and in shop transactions via the EPOS system.
- Act as a Brand Ambassador, introducing customers to the multi channel/digital journey.
- Ensure the shop adheres to all operational procedures, including cash management and security procedures.
- Adhere to Social Responsibility duties.
- Ability to confidently lead a team and inspire others.
- Ability to build excellent working relationships with colleagues.
- Operate with trust and integrity and be an excellent role model.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear guidance and feedback to others (team members and customers).

- 1 year Assistant Manager/Supervisor Retail experience.
- Industry experience is welcomed but not essential; full training is provided to expand your knowledge base on all sports and betting related matters.
