ASSISTANT GROWER REQUIRED CHESHIRE
Part or full time. considered.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are looking for a passionate and hardworking Assistant Grower to join our small but productive 6-acre market garden. Our garden supplies fresh produce directly to our on-site farm shop, our sister restaurant in Chester, and our on-site café, helping create a true field-to-fork operation.

Alongside seasonal vegetables and herbs, we also produce indoor microgreens for wholesale and grow a range of British cut flowers, which are sold through our farm shop and supplied to local florists.

This is a hands-on role working closely with the head grower and small team across all areas of the market garden. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about sustainable food production and capable of working efficiently in a commercial growing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with all aspects of vegetable production including sowing, planting, crop care, and harvesting
Supporting the production and harvesting of microgreens grown indoors for wholesale customers
Helping establish, maintain, and harvest British seasonal cut flowers
Preparing produce for sale through the farm shop, restaurant, and café
Bed preparation, irrigation, and crop maintenance
Supporting seasonal planning and crop organisation
Maintaining high standards of crop quality and garden presentation

Proven experience working in a commercial market garden
Strong practical horticultural skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently outdoors in all weather
Good physical fitness and ability to undertake manual work
Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude

Experience with intensive small-scale vegetable production
Knowledge of microgreen production systems
Experience growing cut flowers for commercial sale
Interest in sustainable and regenerative growing methods
