We are Hiring Assistant Director of Nursing-Maternity Cover to a lead Nursing care home in Waterford, Ireland.
Location: On-site, Waterford
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Nursing/Person in Charge (PIC) in providing clinical, operational, and professional leadership to the nursing and care teams.
- Oversee and supervise the delivery of high quality, person centred care to residents.
- Ensure resident safety is maintained through the implementation of best clinical practices and quality standards.
- Promote a culture that respects the privacy, dignity, independence, and rights of all residents.
- Monitor care practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, organisational policies, and professional standards.
- Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and support to nursing and healthcare staff.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of care quality through effective leadership, supervision, and performance monitoring.
- Foster a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to resident care to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Recognised nursing qualification.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 3 years' post registration nursing experience in the care of older persons within the previous 6 years.
- At least 3 years' management experience within a health or social care setting.
- Strong clinical knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of best practices and emerging trends in older person care.
- Post registration qualification in healthcare management or a related discipline.
- Management qualification or Higher Diploma in Gerontology is desirable.
- Proven leadership, team management, and decision making skills.
- Previous experience in an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) role is advantageous.
