You will lead service improvement and development, foster a culture of excellence across internal teams and external contractors, and ensure services are tailored to the needs of Birmingham's diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality asset management services, ensuring whole-building safety and compliance.
  • Shape and implement service business plans and improvement strategies.
  • Maintain oversight of safety certification and compliance data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage a budget of circa £25mm per annum, ensuring value for money and effective delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver innovative housing solutions.
  • Champion resident engagement and ensure services reflect community needs.
  • Lead procurement strategies and ensure robust contract management.
  • Drive transformation through data-led service design and technology adoption.
Leadership Expectations
  • Model the Council's leadership behaviours and core values.
  • Inspire and empower teams to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Promote a culture of learning, openness, and mutual support.
  • Uphold the highest standards in financial, people, and governance management.
  • Advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for a visionary leader with:

  • Proven experience in strategic asset management, building safety, and compliance.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing large-scale budgets.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  • A track record of delivering service transformation and improvement.
