Job Description
Assistant Design Manager

Location: West Midlands - based in or around the West Midlands area with travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in creating a safely working environment.
  • Understand compliance with CDM 2015 and the principle of prevention and safety in design.
  • Assistance or lead the design process in accordance with the Galliford Try Building Management System.
  • Assist in the development and agreement of the scope and responsibilities matrix for consultants and invite fees for the compilation and management of the project fee schedule.
  • Assist in the development of the design programme in conjunction with the Planner.
  • Develop, manage, monitor and report on the MIDP/IRS and progress and quality of design deliverables.
  • Ensure the design scope of works is understood.
About You
  • Experienced in and knowledgeable of CDM 2015.
  • Aware of H&S responsibilities and adheres to company policies.
  • Able to read and interpret design and construction programmes.
  • Understands buildability and will challenge if designs do not meet the sequencing or construction methodology.
  • Analytical with advanced problem solving skills.
  • Able to develop ideas and present concisely.
  • Excellent communicator able to engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Able to demonstrate commercial acumen and manage design change process.
