Assistant Cook - Term Time

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual to join our team in a combined Cook and Cleaner role. This is a varied and rewarding position, supporting the delivery of high-quality catering and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our guests and visitors.

Edgmond Hall is a residential outdoor education and learning centre that provides enriching experiences for children and young people. Set within a beautiful rural environment, the centre welcomes school groups and visitors from across the region, offering opportunities for learning, adventure, personal development, and team building.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals in accordance with agreed menus and dietary requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Carry out daily cleaning duties across accommodation, communal areas, and facilities.
• Ensure cleaning supplies, kitchen stock, and equipment are maintained and stored correctly.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide an excellent experience for all visitors to Edgmond Hall.

Initial shift pattern will be either be:

Monday 11 - 18:30, Tuesday 07:00 - 14:00, Wednesday 07:00 - 14:00, Friday 09:30 - 14:00

Or

Tuesday 11 - 18:30, Wednesday 09:30 - 14:00, Thursday 07:00 - 14:00, Friday 07:00 - 14:00

Essential Requirements:

• Experience of cooking and/or catering within a professional setting.
• Knowledge of food hygiene standards and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to carry out cleaning tasks to a high standard with attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• A positive, flexible approach with excellent reliability and a commitment to customer service.

Desirable:

Food Hygiene Certificate, previous experience in hospitality, education, outdoor learning, or residential settings.

Please note:

• An enhanced DBS with Children's Barring List Check is required for this role.
• This is a term time only post.
• This is a part-time position requiring 24.5 hours of work per week.
