Job Description

Anexciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiasticAssistant Business Manager to join our dynamic Operations Centre on apermanent basis.

TheOperations Centre is the Trusts 24/7 central hub, providing real timeoperational oversight across all LTHT sites. By supporting the monitoring ofpatient flow, coordinating resources and working closely with clinical andnon clinical teams, the Centre plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficientand responsive care. With a Trust wide view of activity, it helps managecapacity, respond to pressures and maintain smooth day to day operations.

Thepost holder will support operational delivery and the administrativeprocesses that underpin patient flow and discharge. They will hold linemanagement responsibility for administrative staff, providing day to dayleadership, workload allocation, performance monitoring, appraisals andsupport for staff development and wellbeing, ensuring high standards andadherence to Trust policies is maintained.

Therole is key in supporting effective communication and collaborative workingwith system partners, including Leeds Community Healthcare, Leeds CityCouncil, Adult Social Care and the Integrated Care Board to enable safe andtimely patient flow across organisational boundaries.

Main duties of the job

AsAssistant Business Manager within the Operations Centre, you will play avital role in supporting operational delivery and ensuring the effectivecompletion of administrative processes that underpin patient flow anddischarge. Your work will directly contribute to improving patient journeysand enabling safe, timely discharge from the acute setting.

Youwill provide day-to-day leadership within the Operations Centre, linemanaging administrative staff to ensure appropriate workload allocation, highperformance standards and adherence to operational processes.Responsibilities include conducting regular 1:1s, appraisals and performancereviews; supporting staff development and training; fostering a positive,high-performing team culture; and overseeing rota coordination, sicknessmonitoring and HR processes in line with Trust policy.

Youwill also lead and contribute to Trust-wide improvement initiatives,particularly in relation to No Criteria to Reside and patient transportpathways, while providing operational support to the CSU. This includesstrengthening system coordination, improving the appropriate use of dischargetransport and implementing actions that enhance patient flow and reducedelays across sites.

Thisis a fast-paced role requiring strong leadership, excellent communicationskills and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across multipleteams and sites.

Experience
  • Previous NHS/hospital experience
  • Knowledge of NHS systems
  • Experience of organising meetings and minute-taking and/or live typing
  • Experience of leading and implementing improvement projects
  • Previous line management responsibilities
Qualifications
  • Good general standard of education and experience
  • GSCE or equivalent Grade C or above in English and Maths

  • A knowledge of ordering systems including uniforms and general office needs
