Job Description
An established and growing organisation is looking for an experienced Assistant Branch Manager to support the day-to-day running of a busy operation. This is a hands-on role that combines leadership, customer engagement, commercial awareness, and operational management.
Working closely with the Branch Manager, you'll help drive performance, support the team, and ensure exceptional service standards while contributing to the continued success and growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Support the overall performance and profitability of the branch.
- Manage stock levels, pricing structures and operational processes.
- Help coordinate transport and delivery activities to ensure excellent service levels.
- Lead, coach and motivate team members to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant Health & Safety and company procedures.
- Monitor local market activity and identify opportunities for growth.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Provide support across all areas of the operation as required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a branch, operations, customer service, sales or supervisory role.
- Strong people management and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience working towards targets, budgets or performance goals.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and internal business systems.
- Experience leading or mentoring team members would be advantageous.
- Understanding of profit and loss management is desirable.
- Forklift certification would be beneficial but is not essential.
