At Elk Recruitment, we are looking for a driven Assistant Branch Manager to join our client's growing team based in Sligo. In this pivotal role, you will support the Branch Manager in overseeing daily operations, driving sales success, and ensuring exceptional customer service within the branch. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the building products industry, combined with excellent leadership skills and a proven ability to manage teams effectively. You will be responsible for assisting in inventory management, sales forecasting, and maintaining operational excellence to meet business goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Branch Manager in daily branch operations and overall management.
- Lead and motivate branch staff to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
- Manage inventory control, including stock ordering, receiving, and organizing.
- Support the development and execution of sales strategies and business plans.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee branch compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Prepare regular reports on branch performance, sales metrics, and operational issues.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating branch personnel to build a high-performing team.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the building products industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
- Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes relevant to building materials.
- Ability to analyze sales data and generate actionable insights for business growth.
- Proficiency in using industry-related software, Microsoft Office Suite, and point-of-sale systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field preferred.
