Job Description

This role will have responsibility for supporting the Adventure Manager with the day to day operations of the Adventure Park and Seasonal Programme, to drive a safe, consistent, and quality guest experience and support staff in delivering in their areas of responsibility. This role also has responsibility for technical and health and safety experience when Adventure Manager is not present.

Principle Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all activities are delivered in a safe, fun, and timely way according to the rostered programme.
  • Assisting the Adventure Manager with tasks like budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Take responsibility for the configuration, training and use of the Snapfix Safety System. Promote a safety culture. Ensure daily checks of premises / equipment as applicable for site safe checks. Within the remit of your training/qualifications, carry out and document operational inspections (monthly, 3 monthly) as required.
  • Manage daily operations efficiently. Create and maintain work schedules and rotas, ensuring proper staffing levels for park operations. Allocate daily staff duties and breaks.Training, coaching, mentoring, and developing staff technically in addition to creating a positive and customer focused work environment. Management of training documentation including keeping staff training files up to date, course documentation, Flow uploads and document management.
  • Ensure maintenance items are recorded and passed to the management on duty or maintenance team.
  • In line with 1st aid training oversee all first aid situations. Ensure there is a written record of all incidents or accidents and report to management team.
  • Work alongside the Adventure Manager to improve operational systems, processes, and policies to ensure an effective operation.
  • Risk Assessments and SOP's: keep up to date and complete.
  • Assisting the Adventure Manager with recruiting, interviewing, and training new staff.
Desired & Skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in fast paced environment while remaining positive and constructive with excellent interpersonal, team building and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform various physical activities, such as climbing, crawling, and lifting, from various heights on ride structures.
  • Working in a flexible manner, leading the team which may require working unsocial hours. Park opening hours is typically between 8am to 21:30pm which varies according to schedule/activities. Ability to work weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Each employee has a responsibility to ensure that their work complies with appropriate statutory requirements and to ensure that all work functions are undertaken in accordance with health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and Westport Estate policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge and application of sector specific Risk assessments, Safety Procedures and Operational guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Full, clean driving license.
  • Minimum QQI level 7 qualification or equivalent with at least 2 years' experience at Supervisory level in leisure and outdoor activity sector.
  • Hold min. 2 Adventure based, NGB qualifications / Instructional awards.
  • First Aid qualification.
