Job Description

We're looking for a highly organised and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to support the smooth running of our finance operations and ensure accuracy across our systems, processes and reporting.

We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to support our finance function with day-to-day accounting, invoicing and reconciliation tasks. You'll play a key role in ensuring our financial data is accurate, up to date, and shared in a timely way with our clients, suppliers and internal teams.

Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll be responsible for maintaining client and internal records, supporting invoicing cycles, managing expenses, and helping to keep our systems and processes running efficiently. This is a varied and hands-on role - ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, is confident using accounting systems, and enjoys being part of a busy, collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

Invoicing & Timesheet

  • Collate and approve monthly timesheets via our portal
  • Process and send monthly sales invoices to clients
  • Handle client timesheet requirements and address any discrepancies promptly

Reconciliations & Data Management

  • Complete weekly, monthly and quarterly reconciliations of key client data
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date internal spreadsheets and finance trackers
  • Carry out monthly credit card imports (Barclaycard and Amex) and lease/licensing invoice entries into Sage

Purchase Ledger & Payments

  • Process expenses weekly
  • Manage purchase invoice payments and support monthly purchase/sales imports
  • Set up and maintain supplier details, including bank mandates

Finance Operations

  • Run bank reconciliations and credit control
  • Upload invoices through Sage Auto Entry
  • Support with ad hoc reporting for the finance and wider teams

Systems You'll Use

  • Sage Line 50
  • Internal Timesheet Portal/CMAP
  • External client portals (Fieldglass, Ariba)
  • Microsoft Office (with intermediate Excel skills)
  • A keen eye for detail and confidence working with numbers
  • Working knowledge of accounting tools and Excel
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
  • A positive, professional manner and willingness to learn
  • Experience working with diverse teams and global clients

You're comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving problems, and aren't afraid to ask questions. You're also a great team player - professional, helpful, and happy to work across departments to get the job done.
