Asset and Configuration Management Lead
- Day Rate: £500 p/d Outside IR35
- Contract Length: 6-month (project based, may be scope for extension)
- Location: Remote, UK only. Potential on-site visits may be required very ad-hoc (London)
- Essential Certs & Skills: ITIL v4 Certified, CMDB & SACM
- Joiner Start Date: ASAP (2 weeks notice MAX)
About the Role:
Join a leading IT consultancy on an ongoing 6-month project as an Asset and Configuration Management Lead. You'll assist in driving the design and implementation of robust IT asset and configuration management processes (CMDB & SACM) within their ITSM framework, delivering value on a large scale project.
Candidates must be Immediately Available, or able to start within a max of 2 weeks.
*ITIL v4 certification is essential - candidates will not be considered without this.*
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement Asset & Configuration Management processes and policies.
- Design and deliver a CMDB model for service mapping and life cycle tracking.
- Configure CMDB and asset modules in collaboration with ITSM tooling teams.
- Establish life cycle processes for hardware and software asset management.
- Ensure software license compliance and accurate CMDB data through audits.
- Create reports and dashboards on asset utilization and configuration data.
- Train teams on asset and configuration management best practices.
Experience/Skills Required:
- ITIL v4 Certification (essential) with strong knowledge of ITIL principles.
- Expertise in CMDB, SACM, Software Asset Management (SAM), and ServiceNow.
- Proven experience leading large-scale Asset & Configuration Management initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Experience:
- ITIL v4 HVIT/CDS/PIC, SAM certification, knowledge of SaaS management, ISO 19770, or cybersecurity principles (related certifications ideal but not essential)
