Job Description

Location: Belfast City Centre, Northern Ireland

Nomadic Watches is an independent watch brand on a mission to put Belfast on the watchmaking map-creating timepieces that connect people to their roots and their defining moments in life.

We are a fast growing company with a global customer base, an award winning team, and an immersive flagship store in the heart of Belfast. As we scale, we are building a specialist workshop team focused on quality, precision, and craftsmanship.

Through a growing portfolio of international partnerships and collaborations, we are expanding both the technical complexity and global reach of our watches. This means our watchmakers have the opportunity to work on increasingly ambitious projects, develop deeper technical expertise, and contribute directly to products that are gaining recognition on a global stage.

Joining Nomadic at this stage offers a rare opportunity to be part of a brand on the rise-where your work has visible impact, and your craftsmanship plays a key role in shaping the future of watchmaking in Belfast.

Role Overview

As an Assembly Watchmaker, you will be responsible for the complete assembly and regulation of watches to Nomadic's internal quality standards. Working alongside other Watchmakers, Service Technicians, and Quality Control, you will own the build quality and performance of each watch you assemble. This role is critical in delivering flawless products, with a strong emphasis on precision, cleanliness, and right first time assembly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete full T2 assembly of mechanical watches to specification
  • Fit and align hands, dials, cases, bezels, and bracelets/straps
  • Perform casing up, sealing, and final assembly preparation
  • Regulate movements to a minimum accuracy of 5 seconds per day
  • Take full ownership of build quality for assembled watches
  • Identify root causes of defects (e.g. dust, handling errors, component issues)
  • Maintain strict clean working practices to minimise dust
  • Follow best in class workshop protocols (bench cleaning, tool control, air handling awareness)
  • Conduct in process cosmetic and functional checks prior to Quality Control handover
  • Assist with:
    • Stock counts and component handling
    • Receiving and checking deliveries
    • General workshop organisation and 5S standards
Skills & Experience
  • 2-3 years' experience in watch assembly
  • Formal horology qualification (e.g. WOSTEP, BHI, or equivalent)
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Experience working with small components and precision tools
  • Ability to regulate movements to defined accuracy targets
  • Ability to follow structured processes and quality standards
Key Behaviours
  • Ownership: Takes responsibility for quality and performance, not just output
  • Precision mindset: Obsessed with detail and right first time assembly
  • Accountability: Owns rework and continuously improves personal quality
  • Continuous improvement: Proactively identifies ways to reduce defects
  • Team player: Works closely with QC and service to optimise workflow
  • Discipline: Maintains high standards in cleanliness and process adherence
Why Join Us?
  • Opportunity to be part of a growing independent watch brand

  • Be part of putting Belfast on the global watchmaking map
