I'mFarhadatMilk Education, and I'm currently working with a cluster of welcoming and supportivesecondary schools in Dorkingwho are seeking compassionate and patient individuals to join their pastoral and wellbeing teams.
This is a fantastic opportunity for psychology, counselling, or health and social care graduates - or anyone looking to build a career inmental health, education, or youth work. You'll be supporting students who may be facing social, emotional or behavioural challenges, helping them to develop confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
This isn't just a job - it's a chance tochange liveswhile gaining invaluable hands on experience that can lead to future roles such asSchool Counsellor, Pastoral Lead, Educational Psychologist, Youth Worker, or Mental Health Practitioner.
What You'll Be Doing
Offering1:1 emotional and pastoral supportto students who may be struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, or challenging circumstances
Assisting withbehaviour managementand helping to create a calm, supportive learning environment
Supportingattendance and engagement, helping students reconnect with their learning
Working closely withteachers, safeguarding leads, counsellors and SEN staffto implement individual support plans
Taking part inwellbeing initiatives, group sessions and mentoring programmes
Promoting a culture of empathy, inclusion, and emotional awareness across the school
What I'm Looking For
Acaring, patient and empathetic personality- someone who genuinely enjoys helping others
Ideally, a background or degree inPsychology, Counselling, Criminology, Health & Social Careor a related field (not essential)
Strongcommunication and relationship building skills
Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
A genuine interest inmental health, safeguarding, and youth development
A proactive and reliable approach - someone who's not afraid to get involved and make a difference
