As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing personalised support and guidance to students with ASD, ensuring they are able to fully participate in all aspects of school life. In addition to your exceptional interpersonal skills, we are seeking a Teaching Assistant who is confident in using assistive technologies and adaptive resources to enhance the learning experience. This role offers a competitive salary of £18,500 - £19,500 per annum, as well as the opportunity to benefit from 13 weeks of holiday per year, allowing you to strike a healthy work-life balance. - Provide personalised, one-on-one support to students with ASD, tailoring your approach to their individual needs and learning styles
- Collaborate with the class teacher to develop and implement engaging, multi-sensory learning activities that cater to the unique requirements of students with ASD
- Utilise assistive technologies and adaptive resources to enhance the learning experience and ensure full participation
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment where students with ASD feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive
- Maintain detailed records and contribute to the ongoing assessment and monitoring of student progress
- Participate in regular professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest strategies and best practices in ASD education
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals involved in the students' support network
- Proven experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, either in an educational or care setting
- A strong understanding of the unique needs and learning styles of students with ASD, and the ability to adapt your approach accordingly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative, engaging, and effective learning activities
- Proficiency in using assistive technologies and adaptive resources to support the learning and participation of students with ASD
- A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs
- Flexibility, patience, and a calm demeanour when working with students who may exhibit challenging behaviours
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent experience
