EduTalent is working with a specialist school in Brighton that is looking to appoint a passionate Art and Music Teacher to start as soon as possible. This is a 4 day per week, long term supply role, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school supports students with additional learning needs and provides a creative, inclusive environment where students are encouraged to express themselves and develop confidence through the arts.
Job Description- Plan and deliver engaging Art and Music lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN.
- Teach small groups in a supportive, specialist setting.
- Adapt lessons and activities to meet individual learning needs and EHCP targets.
- Encourage creativity, confidence, and self expression through the arts.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and SEN support staff to ensure students are fully supported.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Art at secondary level.
- Music teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
- Experience working with SEN students (desirable but not essential).
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills.
- Creative, patient, and adaptable teaching approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive school team.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
