EduTalent is working with a specialist school in Brighton that is looking to appoint a passionate Art and Music Teacher to start as soon as possible. This is a 4 day per week, long term supply role, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The school supports students with additional learning needs and provides a creative, inclusive environment where students are encouraged to express themselves and develop confidence through the arts.

Job Description
  • Plan and deliver engaging Art and Music lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN.
  • Teach small groups in a supportive, specialist setting.
  • Adapt lessons and activities to meet individual learning needs and EHCP targets.
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, and self expression through the arts.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and SEN support staff to ensure students are fully supported.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and student wellbeing.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Art at secondary level.
  • Music teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with SEN students (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills.
  • Creative, patient, and adaptable teaching approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive school team.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
