This role has a starting salary of £53,713 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.
This is a Secondment opportunity up to 26th March 2027. If you are interested in applying, please discuss with your Line Manager before submitting your application.
This role covers Guildford and Waverley. You will work flexibly and will often visit care services in the Guildford and Waverley area whilst otherwise normally work from home rather than an office. Your contractual office base can be discussed at interview.

About the Team
The Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships Quality Assurance Team comprises of 12 staff and one manager. The team sits within Commissioning and we work closely with our colleagues in frontline social care teams.
About The Role
As an Area Quality Assurance Manager you will monitor the quality of adult social care services delivered by independent providers across Surrey, with a focus on services for older people.
You will carry out monitoring visits to nursing and residential care homes and home based care services. You will produce reports setting out observations and recommendations for improvement. You will also support care providers by promoting and sharing best practice.
With extensive experience in the care sector, you will be confident and comfortable engaging with provider managers and staff, challenging poor practice and advising where improvements are required. Also important to this role is the ability to interact with people who use services.
Collating information and intelligence and planning your work by assessing priorities will be a key element of the role, working with colleagues to ensure risks are addressed in a timely way.
Experienced and confident in multi-disciplinary settings, you will liaise closely with internal colleagues including safeguarding advisors, locality management and commissioning colleagues. Developing and maintaining good links with key external partners such as from the Care Quality Commission and Health will also be a part of the role.
You will also have a role to play in the on-going developments in quality assurance for adult social care in Surrey. We are working with key partners to implement new ways of working - to be more pro-active, integrated and consistent.
Shortlisting Criteria
- A Professional social work or nursing qualification, NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care / Management or Management Registered Managers Award.
- Extensive knowledge of current best practice in care and support service delivery for adults.
- Good knowledge of the context in which safeguarding operates within social services and health, including The Care Act 2014.
- A clear understanding of the principles that underpin the personalisation agenda.
- Ability to analyse information in order to make informed decisions and input to delivering effective reports.
- Willing and able to work and travel across the whole of Surrey.
- Willingness to work flexibly as part of a team.
- You will be an experienced and confident worker, able to independently prioritise their work and liaise with a variety of stakeholder
