Job Description
Summary

The candidate will be leading a Regional Financial Controllership Team and will be responsible for ensuring excellent financials, management accounting, tax and statutory compliance service is provided throughout their sub region. The job holder will require the ability, eagerness and drive to work within a wide network of colleagues and service partners to deliver to customer expectation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing, training, developing and motivating a solid, business oriented, dedicated regional financial controllership team of approximately 7 to 10 professionals
  • Stewardship and review of financial documents for group and local compliance
  • Performance and evidence of controls
  • Ensure appropriateness of controls for internal and external compliance
  • Regular balance sheet and cost reviews
  • Supervise the month end close process for the region supported and ensuring critical processes and reconciliation obligations are met
  • Leading primary relationship with Regional Tax department, Finance, Internal Audit, Treasury, General Accounting, Group & Statutory Auditors, and outsource partners

  • The job holder could either move horizontally by tackling more sub regions or move vertically to become a Regional Controller

Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified accountant from a recognised professional institute (CIMA/ACCA/CA) or with a degree in accounting/finance from a recognised university with 7 9 years of experience
  • Candidates with partial qualification/degree and proven experience also considered
  • Experience of using Oracle, HFM, Blackline accounting systems
Strong Background In
  • Preparation of statutory accounts across multiple entities, financial accounting in a large organisation
  • Strong IFRS knowledge and strong understanding of accounting concepts
  • Experience in working with senior interested parties and reporting to tight deadlines
  • Experience of leading cross geography relationships; strong Excel skills and confidence in leading sophisticated spreadsheets to ensure accurate reporting
  • Be a lead proponent of driving a great culture and approach to working across finance
  • Ability to scope and shape role while adapting to a fast changing environment
  • Strong process orientation, with ability to design and operate robust reporting frameworks
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues
  • Enhance opportunities, i.e., challenge ways of working, adopt group practices, seek and provide information and clarification
  • Effective oral and written communication that resonates with the target audience
  • Use all available resources and toolsets to investigate and resolve problems and ensure the most appropriate solution is identified
