JOB OVERVIEW
This is an opportunity to contribute to varied outdoor work across highways, utilities and commercial projects.
Working as an Arborist / Vegetation Operative offers a practical mix of vegetation clearance, tree surgery and ground-based activity, with safe working at the heart of each project.
The Arborist / Vegetation Operative will use tools and machinery including chainsaws, chippers and strimmers, supporting climbing and aerial operations where appropriately qualified.
As part of the Polegate team, the Arborist / Vegetation Operative will work independently and collaboratively to help deliver reliable, high-quality work.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Arborist / Vegetation Operative include:
- Tree Surgery and Vegetation Clearance: Carry out tree surgery, vegetation clearance and ground-based works
- Safe Working Practices: Follow site requirements and support safe working practices
- Tools and Machinery: Operate chainsaws, chippers, strimmers and other relevant equipment
- Climbing and Aerial Support: Assist with climbing and aerial operations where appropriately qualified
- Infrastructure Support: Contribute to works across highways, utilities and commercial projects
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience in arboriculture or de-vegetation
- CS30/31
- Chainsaw experience
- Industry-relevant tickets
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual
DESIRABLE
- CS38/39 climbing and aerial rescue
- Utilities experience
- First Aid (Forestry)
- MEWP certification
- Chapter 8 signing, lighting and guarding
- CSCS card
