Apprentice Procurement Officer

The primary role of the Procurement team is to support all service areas within the Trust, providing procurement advice, guidance and support on a range of requirements for goods, works and services in line with the Trust Standing Financial Instructions, and current UK and European Public Sector Procurement Law.
Main duties of the job- Process orders and obtain quotations to support Trust requirements, in a timely manner.
- Work in partnership with service areas to establish user requirements, conduct cost-benefit analysis, benchmark and recommend compliant procurement solutions, highlighting savings opportunities.
- Use Trust computer applications (e Systems) to ensure all tasks are carried out efficiently, including procurement systems for orders, quotations, catalogues, tenders and contracts.
- Support the management and maintenance of Trust systems and processes in partnership with team members and as allocated by the Procurement Manager.
- Manage systems such as Integra, e portal tenders, new supplier approval processes and NHS supply chain.
- Assist service areas in compiling Trust quotations and specifications.
- Empower service areas to incorporate pre procurement planning and demonstrate good procurement practice, noting lead times and processes, and evidence savings and efficiencies post award.

Job responsibilitiesThis role is an apprenticeship position. Throughout the duration of this role you will be expected to attend college, complete assignments and undergo a full time role.

Person Specification Shortlisting Criteria- Maths and English qualifications
- Good understanding of MS Office packages
- Good written and verbal communication
- Willingness to complete apprenticeship
- Some/base level customer service or administrative experience or skills
