Job Description
Overview

Halton Borough Council is a vibrant local authority located in Cheshire, connecting communities across the River Mersey with strong transport links to Liverpool and Manchester. The role is based in the Cemeteries & Crematorium Services department at Picow Farm Road in Runcorn, supporting the local community through vital administrative work.

The position offers 37 hours per week and is part of an apprenticeship programme led by Oldham College, providing regular review sessions and ongoing support while you gain practical skills in horticulture and garden management.

Responsibilities & Contributions
  • Maintain accurate administrative records and support the team with daily tasks.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving garden and horticultural spaces within the department.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and assist colleagues in upholding safety standards.
  • Work outdoors in all weathers as required.
Qualifications
  • GCSEs in English and Maths at level 3 or above, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for horticulture and garden management.
  • Basic understanding of workplace health and safety responsibilities.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions.
