Job Description

Participate actively in all training and development activities to build knowledge andpractical skills in medical bed maintenance and engineering.Learn how to safely install, maintain, and repair hospital beds and other patienthandling equipment under supervision.

Main duties of the job

Develop understanding of relevant regulations, including HTMs (Health Technical Memorandums), particularly HTM 01-01 (Decontamination) and HTM 06-03 (Electrical Systems).Assist in the servicing, testing, and repair of medical beds, trolleys, and associated equipment.Learn how to perform basic fault-finding and diagnostics under guidance from experienced engineers.Support the safe and accurate calibration of test equipment used for inspections and servicing.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification Education & Qualifications
  • GCSE Grade 5 in mathematics and Grade C/4 or equivalent in at least 4 other subjects to include science based subject.
  • Attend college as required to complete and pass - Level 3 - Maintenance Operation Engineering Technician Apprentice
  • To be computer literate
  • An aptitude and interest in the practical and theoretical study of engineering
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Ability to work under supervision
  • Adaptable to change
  • Have an understanding of Health and Safety issues
Personal Attributes
  • Capable of working in a demand driven service
  • Full UK driving Licence
